MEET TINA

Tina was born and raised in Denver Colorado.

At the age of 18, Tina began her career as a public servant, serving as a voluntary Probation Officer for Arapahoe County Probation Department, Englewood, Colorado, where she handled a case load of approximately 20 juvenile and adult offenders.

Tina received her Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Metropolitan State College of Denver in May 1989 at the age of 20.

Upon receiving her degree she continued her path of public service and worked as a Youth Counselor for Vision Quest, in Arizona, helping delinquent high risk children turn their lives around.  She then returned to Colorado and worked for the Community Responsibility Center, as a Community Corrections Technician and Intensive Supervised Parole Program Liason, helping adult criminal defendants re-acclimate into society in a positive way.

Tina relocated to Florida in 1990, where she immediately obtained employment as a Felony Probation Officer for the Florida Department of Corrections, in the Nineteenth Judicial circuit,  Fort Pierce, Florida. While working full time as a probation officer, she studied for the Law School Admission Test and was accepted at Stetson University College of Law in 1992 and relocated to St. Petersburg, Florida for law school.

While in law school Tina became a Certified Legal Intern for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit State Attorney's Office where, under the supervision of a licensed attorney, Tina handled a misdemeanor case load and tried her first jury trial. Tina graduated from Stetson in December of 1994 and relocated to Live Oak, Florida where she began her career as a prosecutor for the Third Judicial Circuit of Florida.

During the twelve years Tina served as an Assistant State Attorney, she managed and tried criminal cases including: First Degree Murder, Capital Sexual Abuse of a Child, Drug Trafficking, Kidnapping, Robbery, Jimmy Ryce Proceedings, Baker Act Proceedings, etc.  Tina was also  instrumental in developing and implementing the Third Judicial Circuit Drug Court Program.

In addition to having her own caseload, Tina served as the Chief Assistant State Attorney for the Columbia County State Attorney's office from May 2005 to December of 2008 where she was responsible for supervising a staff of 18-20 employees including attorneys and support staff.

Since January 2009, Tina has been in private practice and owns and operates her own law firm. Tina is currently in her 25th year as an attorney.  Her entire career has been devoted to cases which have a profound affect on people's lives in our community in general.

In addition to her commitment to her client's, whether as a prosecutor or in private practice, she has continued to also serve our community through Pro Bono and other volunteer work.
